Ovation Systems Wins "The Queen's Award for Enterprise 2008",

in the Category of Innovation

Ovation Systems Ltd is delighted and proud to announce we have won a Queen's Award for Enterprise 2008, which is considered to be the most prestigious UK award for business performance. Ovation Systems wins the award in the Innovation category for the development of AfterBurner, a digital replacement for outdated traditional time-lapse video recorders (VCRs) used in police surveillance operations.

With a global reputation for technology skills and expertise, Ovation Systems designed and developed AfterBurner following discussions with the UK National Crime Squad (NCS).

They needed a specialist video recorder that would allow them to move to digital video recording whilst complying with existing evidence gathering procedures. The result was AfterBurner, the world's first DVD recorder with a time-lapse capability, offering all the benefits of high quality DVD recording coupled with the operational strengths of a traditional VCR.

Since its introduction in 2005, it has proved to be highly effective in the fight against organised and serious crime with many thousands of units in service with over 90% of UK police forces along with many other law enforcement organisations around the world.

David Millar, Sales and Marketing Director of Ovation Systems said, "We are extremely pleased to have received the award as it demonstrates Ovation Systems has grown to be one of the leading suppliers to the world's police organisations. It is a great accolade to everyone within the company who have worked so hard to make it possible.”

Ovation Systems was one of only 43 recipients of such an award this year. To win, companies must be able to demonstrate substantial improvement in business performance and commercial success, to levels that are outstanding for the size of the business.
